Ogden Sierra Club -- Adopt a Roadless Area
Burch Creek
This 7500-acre roadless area lies on the south and southwest slopes of
Mt. Ogden, and includes the popular Beus trail. Together with the
Taylor-Coldwater unit, it is proposed
for wilderness status by the Ogden Sierra Club.
Issues affecting this unit include:
- Mapping proposed wilderness boundaries.
- Trail maintenance.
- Activity at the Strawberry Ridge lift
terminal and Mt. Ogden communication site, both of
which overlook this area.
- Recurring proposals to build a tram somewhere
on Mt. Ogden.
- Extending the Bonneville Shoreline Trail southward to
Weber Canyon.
- Hiker access from Uintah and Mountain Green.
