Taylor-Coldwater

This small but important area includes the popular hiking trails in Taylor Canyon, Hidden Valley, and Warmwater and Coldwater Canyons. Much of this land was recently acquired by the Forest Service in the Snowbasin land exchange. The Ogden Sierra Club has proposed that this area be treated as part of the nearby Burch Creek roadless area, and that both be incorporated into the proposed Mt. Ogden Wilderness.

Issues affecting this unit include:

• Recurring proposals to build a tram in Taylor Canyon.
  

• Mapping proposed wilderness boundaries.
  

• Trail maintenance.
  

• A proposed new trail connecting Coldwater Canyon to the Maples picnic area via the Sardine pass overlook.
