Thurston Peak

This unit lies in northern Davis County, extending from Weber Canyon southward to Adams Canyon and including a major segment of the Great Western Trail. It is contiguous with the Francis Peak unit, and together they are proposed as a wilderness area by the Ogden Sierra Club. Thurston Peak is the highest point in Davis and Morgan Counties.

Issues affecting this unit include:

• Heli-skiing along ridges.
  

• Mapping proposed wilderness boundaries.
  

• Hiker access.
  

• Grazing (mostly east of the ridgeline).
  

• Extension of the Bonneville Shoreline Trail north to Weber Canyon.
