2008 Utah Legislative Session Bill Tracker

2008 General Session of the Utah Legislature

The final version of SB 245, Fifth Substitute SB 245, cut a deal to find additional public money from fees and sales taxes to allow Salt Lake City to fund its share of the light rail line to the airport.  The bill introduced by Senate Majority Leader Curt Bramble (pictured at left) still represents a betrayal of the public interest and a diversion of public money to a special interest use.  Although this bill passed both houses by a large margin, its support might not be deep enough to sustain a veto.

The session is concluded, but the governor should sign some bills and veto others.  Find out more below, and then take action by calling or writing Governor Jon Hunstman.
